Last Thursday the newest themed group exhibition at UFORGE opened to great success, despite the snowy weather! Featuring works in black and white, it is appropriately titled "Grayscale." There's a range of media, including photography, acrylic painting, collage, digital art, pen-and-ink, cut-paper, and mixed media sculpture, as well as a variety of themes and subjects, from portraiture and landscape to abstract compositions and wildlife. This eclectic concoction of imagery makes for an exciting and inspiring exhibit of local as well as a few out-of-town artists, while the black and white lends it an appealing cohesion. The opening event even sported an array of black and white foods to suit the occasion! Below are some photos from the show and the opening. Stop by the gallery to see the exhibit, on view until March 31st! You can also read our interview with the featured window artist for this assignment, Michael Glowacki, here.
