I make art to slow down. It is the opposite of checking my iPhone every 5 minutes. I don't set out to produce work about one subject. My goal is to have fun and relax into the process - at best when I make art it feels like a long train ride where I can let my mind wander. I work without strict ideas of what the end product will look like. I move from representation to abstraction, to painting, assemblage and collage and back again. I most frequently find myself returning to acrylic paint - the color saturation, texture and flexibility of paint satisfies an urge.
